  Avoid if you want food. Lovely setting just for a drink but the food is appalling. Dry food which has clearly been sat around for a while. Small portions of food. There should have been bottomless gravy. I got one small splatter on top of the dry turkey, and that was forming a skin because it had obviously been sat around. My partner ordered the duck salad which again had dry small pieces of meat and the salad itself was swimming in the dressing. Definitely not worth the money! Similar prices to the bowling green pub, go there instead! As someone who lives in Lichfield I will not be back and will be telling others about my poor experience.

  Our first time here and have to say that I am very impressed. The staff were excellent, had a good laugh with them and they joined in willingly. The food was very nice indeed, my steak was well cooked and my wife's salad was fresh and very tasty. The portions we're good sized. No complaints at all. Would come again with no hesitation.

  The food is absolutely fantastic, and far exceeds my expections.
  
  I would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the awful service.
  
  As I'm writing this review I've enjoyed the beautiful Duo of Lamb, but have been sat with an empty plate in front of me for over 20 minutes. It isn't even exceptionally busy, which makes the poor service even more disappointing.
  
  Improve your service and you'll easily be getting 5 stars for me in the future.
  
  Overall great place to have a meal, but terribly let down by the waits.

  Excellent quality food (But above avg price too). Lovely outdoor area to catch the sun too. Excellent treat after walking/biking around Cannock Chase.

  Good menu but food looks better than it tastes. We had the lamb shank (bit small) the British burger, wagyu burger and hunters chicken. All looked great but just lacking real flavour and punch. However, desserts were great! Had the selection platter and each pudding was a good size and really tasty. Staff were also pleasant and helpful
