  The entrance is a bit odd, being a single lane road between houses on what looked to me to he a former council estate, but as you get to the main building you can't help but admire its beauty.
  Inside the main building you can find a warren of rooms and staircases all heading in different directions which can make finding your room post nightcap an adventure.
  Breakfast was lovely with a good choice on offer.
  The staff found a good balance between attentive and helpful while being relaxed and friendly.

  We went for garden afternoon tea and it was incredible, one of the best I've ever had. Nothing was rushed, the food all tasted lovely and fresh and the service was fantastic, can't wait to visit again!

  Such a lovely hotel. Staff are so friendly and helpful.
  The room we stayed in (Johnson) was nicely decorated and comfy bed. Spacious room. Nice bath with tv in the wall.
  Breakfast was lovely. Service was great.
  Would definitely recommend.

  Overall a very pleasant experience across the dining and comfortable sleep. The waiting staff were extremely polite and the food at the evening meal excellent. However a number of problems keep the experience at an average: the shower ran hot / cold in rotation never keeping to the same temperature (electric shower so not a plumbing issue) and we had to ask for toiletries from room service. The walls were very thin plasterboard allowing us to hear adjacent rooms clearly - and be woken by late returning guests into the hallway. A lot of the issues just seemed to be carelessness in design and maintenance. Such a shame.

  A heads-up for anyone considering buying gift vouchers from them. We had £50 of vouchers bought for us as a gift, and hadn't realised there was such a short expiry date on them. When we came to use them, I phoned to ask if they would still be ok, but surprisingly they said NO - we couldn't use them.
  
  I understand it's our responsibility to check the expiry date, but vouchers normally have several years on them, and really it'd have been no skin of their nose to allow us to use them. It shows a short-sighted, unfriendly, unnecessary and unaccommodating approach I feel.
  
  We were going to visit this weekend to consider it for a large birthday gathering in October, but we won't be doing that now.
